Q & A

Korean classes

Q: Whom do you offer your Korean classes to?
A: Anybody over the age of 18 who wishes to learn Korean language. We have classes in target language as well as bi-lingual methods.

Korean lessons

Q: I would like to have Korean lessons but I am afraid it might take too long to learn the foreign alphabet.
A: Many students learn how to read and write and use the skills easily in about 30 hours or less of the initial lessons.

Korean 101

Q: I am very interested in learning good grammar. My friends are saying there are better ways to learn Korean grammar.
A: One of the unique factors about Korean language is that there are a few different verb endings for the same functions and related grammatical points depending on the situation type. In another words, Korean for conversational situations is different from the one in reference books or news forms. Many reference books do not explain the differences and aren¡¯t as specific as they should be. We offer our own course materials especially for those grammar points.

Korean language - Advanced

Q: I have been studying Korean grammar and reading materials but I have a feeling that the more I study the more I get confused. Is it the language or me? Or is it the learning methods?
A: Short answer? It's the learning methods. Korean language can be learned very easily with lucid grammatical logics. All you need is to find the right language instructors using the right teaching materials and teaching tools.

Korean as a Foreign Language (¿Ü±¹ÀÎÀ» À§ÇÑ Çѱ¹¾î)

Q: How is KFL different from Korean for Koreans?
A: KFL is designed for foreigners to learn the Standard Seoul Korean language and be able to communicate with Koreans for formal business purposes. Therefore, it¡¯s typically quite formal with even honorific forms being taught to start with. In our school, we teach Korean not only for the formal language but also for everyday polite language for conversations as a Second language that can be used locally.

Korean Language Service

Q: Our firm desires Korean language services for a team of 6 individuals who are assigned to work in Korea for the next two years. Can you design a course for them to 1) get to know the culture 2) learn the language for every day life and 3) learn how to read and write to an intermediate level?
A: That's what we do. First of all, we need to assess their language levels and will then design the best classes for your firm.

About Learning Korean
How many people speak Korean? Around 70 million people both in South and North. There are 2 million Korean speaking individuals in China, 700,000 in Japan, and some more in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia. Koreans who are in the US number around 2 millions.

The Korean alphabet ¡°Hangul¡± is the only true alphabet native to the Far East. ¡°Hangul¡± was invented by the King of Korea, Sejong in the 14th century. Each of the 40 letters (19 consonants and 21 vowels) represents a single or double consonant or vowel. Korean writing is differentiated from that of most other languages in that the letters of each syllable are grouped into clusters.

Although linguists say it¡¯s the second most difficult language followed by Hungarian, the Korean alphabet can easily be learned to use in 30 hours or less and is very easy to learn to communicate in every day life.
